I was always amused that Peter Walker and David Hafler were both claiming that all properly designed amplifiers sound the same, around the same time, yet Quad amps and Hafler amps don't sound very similar at all.
Running in a CD player or amplifier, FFS - we all know who made this claim
Russ Abbot more like. “Following two years of research and development”- that’ll be by the audio equivalent of David Davis.
Not 'running in' ... warming up certainly.
No, I think Alan Shaw's position is that his speakers make everything sound the same.I thought that was Alan Shaw?
What's missing from "properly designed" is "and used within their limits".
For example, a lot of well designed amplifiers might exceed their limits on output current if faced with driving one-ohm Apogee Scintillas. Most amplifiers have current limiting to reduce failure rates in the field from such very difficult loads. If you go into current limiting (or into voltage clipping) all bets on transparency are off.
Do you have a suggested mechanism for that? The on;y thing that runs in is your brain and ears
Exactly what it’s claimed to do.
That's the problem, it doesn't really say anything. Bet it's great though if Russ made it.
Yes, I’m sure it does exactly as it claims to do.
That’s got me thinking, I wonder hwo different grades of paper sound!? And what color of paper sounds best?
Without wishing to pre-empt any findings I predict the following:You could always try it, and report back on your results...
Have you ever changed capacitors? The on;y thing that runs in is your brain and ears
Have you ever changed capacitors?
At a mere $300 these are one of my all time favourites https://www.thecableco.com/ebony-dowsing-pendulum.html
