Anyone see this on UK Channel 4 last night?

There was a feature on a Norwegian horn player who played Japanese style 'tunes' with sampled sounds and tape loops.

Was probably more World/Ambient than Jazz but sounded pretty good nonetheless.

Did anyone catch his name?
 
I honestly can't figure out why so many people are getting so excited about the Norwegian players who are coming up. I don't think I've heard anything interesting or terribly good yet.
What's the deal here?

I'm guess I'm just an old fogey reactionary. having listened to some of this stuff, I sitll don't get it TBH.
Will keep trying, though.
 
Try "Khmer" by Nils Petter Molvaer, it sounds similar but the "dance" elements make it a bit more listenable.
