I had to chase a small bird out of my workshop several times last week when I spent a sunny day working with the doors wide open. Later I discovered the little blighter had started building a nest next to my desk and sound system. It really was quite persistent and didn't want to leave.
This reminded me of last year when I'd left workshop windows open for a couple of days and had a fully formed nest above one window. I also lost use of my kayak last spring due to a Blackbird's nest on top of it (kayak stored hanging from an outside wall). On other occasions, a cycle helmet, hill-walking boots and bike panniers have been squatted in by nesting birds and taken out of use for several weeks.
(Later in the spring, I must remember to cover or upturn any buckets or containers where daft young birds could drown themselves)
