"Better" resistors in the Naim phono stage

Kind of an aside, but what about other components containing magnetic bits? For example, all of the diodes I have spare have magnetic leads (mainly 1N4148). Although these are never in the signal path (except maybe in the -ve darlington of the power amps), their leads do join with it, and they are used lots in Naim stuff. Does this matter?
