What a year.

So much great music being made and the whole rave/dance stuff was fantastic.

I voted for the Pixies but it was tough choice!

In the spirit of youthful rebellion I have a late entry from 1988.
N.W.A.'s Stright Outta Compton. A cracking record and similarly pivotal to Unknown Pleasures.

Great record, a few hints of what was to come in there.
I have the original record, with Obi but no insert.

Had to look up Melody Maker's albums of the year to remind myself, and it was a good year for me: Young Gods' L'Eau Rouge, Spacemen 3's Playing with Fire, American Music Club's United Kingdom. Can't really decide between those 3. From the poll mebbe Pixies.

Spacemen 3's Playing with Fire for me as well.

I loved The Stone Roses album at the time, and even learned how to play all of it on guitar, but it has aged very badly.

The Someloves - Something or Other

I'm putting a shout-out for this one as it frequently makes Top 10 jangly rock album lists and doesn't really put a foot wrong. If I were to fault it, it's that it's almost too perfect.
