Bakoon EQA- IIR Phono Stage
The Bakoon EQA-IIR Phono can be used with extremely low output cartridges such as the Kondo IO without a step up transformer.
See below calculation (current = voltage divided by internal impedance):
Kondo IO: 0.075 mV divided by 1 ohm = 0.075 mA
Denon 103R: 0.25 mV divided by 14 ohms = 0.018 mA
Air-Tight : 0.36 mV divided by 38 ohms = 0.009 mA
As you can see the Kondo IO is actually the highest "current" output cartridge for the EQA-11R. Conventional phono preamplifier seeing cartridges' voltage output need impedance matching and another voltage gain (by step-up or another preamp) and these are all introduce another signal chain and possible noise source which can be all avoided by our current circuit design. No matter how exotic or expensive the transformer is, they all are unnecessary and inferior for our EQA-11R.
