Avondale VBE amplifier opinion??

Hi all,
I'm looking for a change of amplifier.
I've got a nice Chevron Paradox pre amp and I've seen a DIY build NCC200 VBE for sale in the DIY section.
What would I expect from this amp combined with my Chevron?
What are the risks of buying a DIY build? (no disrespect to the guy who built it but wondering what the risks of buying a self build are).
What are these amps like and how close will it get to a pro built amp that was built by Avondale.
What kind of qualities in its presentation etc would I experience?
What is a reasonable price to pay for any of these NCC200 builds they seem to vary between £400 to £600.
Any advise or info is appreciated.
Thanks

It looks a cracker of a build to me. No experience of the Chevron, but my NC200 (home built) gives me great results with my NAC32.5 and Shahinian Arcs.

Should work fine, the Chevron is a transparent neutral amp that will let the Avondales quality shine through, I have used one with several different power amps over the years with excellent results.
As Richard says the Avondale looks a well built and specced unit.
