Audio Output Connection to Power Amp ?

I’m considering a power amp so sorry for the n00b question.

My amp (Denon dra100) has an Audio Out rca connection. It can be changed between fixed and variable output. Does this mean in variable output mode it’s effectively a preamp output ?

Am I safe to use this output into a power amp and run the Denon amp with no speak cables attached ?

Yes. Pre-out audio, variable.

Do you have any idea if I plug a power amp in then will it stop the internal power amp within the Denon ?

The internal power amp will keep working, but won't do much. Just don't connect both internal and external amps into the same loudspeaker pair.
