hi,
It's been a rollercoaster with more highs than lows but my modded Arcam is now complete.
Andy's magnificent super-regs are installed to the left of the transport and provide super-smooth 25 volts directly to the audio board.
They are powered by an offboard 32.5 supply from my Expo transformer.
In addition to all my previous comments regarding sound quality I can add that instuments rise and decay from and into an inky "blackness" much further, more decay.
This is only a very initial finding on swith on. Before protracted running in.
I intend a serious session this evening, but things can only get better in the coming weeks.
Listening to how they sound I would imagine they would make a first class upgrade to a standard Arcam as they can be fitted so easily to the audio board. All you need is an offbord supply.
CREDITS:
thanks go to Zanash for his kit, Ron for his invaluable advice, and to Andy of super-reg fame for his work, advice and patience.
Together we have created a monster.
Heres the pic.
