Is it though? Look at all the BBC mini monitor types.ATC doesn't have entry level speakers anymore, financially speaking because sound is subjective. I'm guessing in UK pricing must be a little lower, the SCM7 costs here 1300€, it's ridiculous for a small speaker.
I think this is a marketing error in some ways, as happy as I am with my ATC40s I do hanker after the classic range. I don't like the idea of having an 'entry level' speaker in the houseSorry, but they do classify them as "Entry"
I'd agree it's a marketing/branding thing.I think this is a marketing error in some ways, as happy as I am with my ATC40s I do hanker after the classic range. I don't like the idea of having an 'entry level' speaker in the house

Sorry - I thought I was responding to a an ATC 40 post.I think they are £995 in the UK. Hardly ridiculous for the engineering and quality of drivers compared to e.g. the limited edition LS3/5As at £7k.
I spent several hours listening to a pair last night, used with my bass extenders, and they are superb. Far superior to LS50 Metas, JR149s, LS3/5As etc. Better than ATC SCM50As. Much better than Neat Acoustics at more than 2X the price.
In your opinion, what would be the minimum room size for the 40's?You certainly don't need a huge room for 40's.
Well I have mine is a typical 1940s semi, in what would have been the dining room, I reckon it’s probably 14’ x 12. It’s really just a very average sized room.In your opinion, what would be the minimum room size for the 40's?
Many thanks. That is pretty much the size of my room.Well I have mine is a typical 1940s semi, in what would have been the dining room, I reckon it’s probably 14’ x 12. It’s really just a very average sized room.
