Source is an Arcam D33, speakers are Yamaha NS1000.
What's out there?

Of particular interest:
Yamaha A-S2100
Musical Fidelity A5 or something similar with lots of power.
A fully sorted Leak Stereo 20
Anything Avondale.

Budget would get me any of those on a good day Think PFM bargain not eBay asking prices!

Putting an absolute reference no nonsense / mental clarity DAC with speakers that do the same, can't see it ending well myself.. That said, buy the F6 in the classifieds. PM me if you need a pre to go with.

The Hegel H160. Reviews seem to suggest it should be a good fit with the speakers. Probably the most uninspiring looking amplifier I'll ever own mind you, let's hope it makes up for that with sonic beauty!
