Amazon Refund?

I purchased a gift for Mrs Mull on our 50th Wedding Anniversary.
It arrived on time and all OK.

Thought no more until today both an Amazon email and an Alexa Notification arrived, simultaneously, informing me that Amazon had received the item as a return, and that I will receive a refund in the next few days.

Thing is I didn't return it.

Very curious. I do recall some slight confusion over gift wrapping when ordering, but nothing more. All went as per usual.

So, checked my order on Amazon.co.uk and it is showing as 'Refund Issued.

Checked my bank and the payment for the order is showing up as expected.

Can't see anything suspicious about addresses etc., so inclined to do nothing other than wait and see.

Any views?

I would just wait and see what happens too.
When I have had a refund from amazon and it shows up as issued in the app it can take a few days to show in my account.
Maybe it's a present from amazon for your 50th Anniversary

Mull, that is one minor hassle in a current climate of hassles that doesn't need concern. Anticipation rather than trepidation! Start worrying when/if they realise they'd made another error after the refund issuance.

Just think of the countless times Amazon have not refunded when they should have. I wouldn’t be worrying about it.

You will probably save yourself and them further confusion if you do nothing.

Perhaps Mrs Mull isn't as enamoured of the gift as you thought, and has surreptitiously sent it back whence it came?
