adjustable Paterson reels

The things are apparently adjustable for 35mm, 126, 127 and 120/220 film.

Any idea how to expand the reel from 35mm to 120 size? I assume it's some combination of twisting and pulling, but damned if I can change the thing's size.

Just turn the reels until they click and come apart. You'll get two halves, and different options for where you can lock the reels together.

I was reluctant to force it, as I thought the reel would snap in two.

They can be a bit stiff to begin with, but should loosen up a bit over time.

I was picturing the reel being *very* loose, as in being in two or more pieces on the floor.

It wouldn't be the first time my freakishly strong grip has fixed something beyond repair.
