Accessing Music Files on DVD and Blu-Ray Discs

I have several albums which came with a DVD or Blu-Ray containing 24/96 files of the music.

I can play these off the disc but I’d like to download them do they can be used on my Pono.

However, I’m unable to access them as they don’t show up when I look at the discs on my PC drive.

Do I need dedicated software for this?

Yes. If they're not copy protected you can use something like DVD Audio Extractor to extract the soundtracks. If they are copy protected you'll need to look into software to bypass the protection, which may not be legal depending on where you live. MakeMKV will allow you to make an unprotected backup of your disc from which you can use DVD-A to extract the audio. Other options are available for these, but I know these two pieces of software work pretty well.
