AAA5 v ACD3

What is the difference between them, same transport, same DAC, both tweaked by Avondale.

ACD3 is better in all respects,also has an external power supply for better performance,sonicaly has a more open airy sound,with cleaner,tighter bass,imho well worth the extra.

Having heard both at Avondale Towers I agree with Steve the ACD3 is much better but the AAA5 is still a great player for the money.

Both have very good pace but the acd3 is a lot smoother in its presentation and you don't realise how much better it is at first.

I've had both and they really are very different indeed. The AAA5 was very good but the ACD3 is in a different league.

The AAA5 was bought for my wifes hifi, it sounds superb. Thanks Hugh. The ACD3 is for my use, I m very happy with it, but it needs a long time to warm up. Thanks Carl.
