9volts Power supply

Any ideas for a better and quieter power supply please

I’m assuming that it’s a 9v dc supply you need, if so Elite have a nice Baldwin Audio linear one at a reasonable price. It was mine but I traded it in.

I think so but I can’t swear to it. Certainly didn’t have an iec mains cable but i may have included a dc cable with a 2.5mm plug at one end and a 2.1mm at the other. I used it with an SOTM streamer.

Did you find that the SOtM steamer benefited noticeably from a linear power supply? I have the sMS-200 NEO, so you've caught my attention.

Yes. That’s the streamer I used and found it to be beneficial.

There were several battery powered phono stages in the 1980s. Try Googling it. Theory was that no wall wart could give the smooth power delivery of a DC battery.

when you say better and quieter, do you know if it is poor or noisy?

It had 2 problems
1 wall warts do bring in noise and get warm
2 when I checked it the voltage was 12.8 v !!!
So good job I checked as it could have ruined the Theta even though the label on it said it was for the TLC
Anyway the one from Fergus has solved my problem and is fine

Hi, Yes you are correct, batteries can give a serious upgrade.
Try a Lantern battery

just add a lead & make sure the polarity is correct, plug in, should last for several months depending on usage
