220 v spec valve amps with 240 volt supply

Being interested as I am in the Chinese made LM audio valve amps I have concerns about their 220 volt rating and it's suitability where I live.

I reside in Australia where we have 240 volt that measures 251 V in my house.

Googling suggests most mains supplies actually vary 10% above or below their rating and I assume all audio equipment is manufactured to cope with this.

Am I likely to have issues with (quality) 220 volt Chinese amps seeing 251 V ?

Thanks Steven,

I was kind of hoping that someone would step in and tell me, "no problem, they'll be fine" but I see that isn't going to be the case.

Are step down transformers likely to effect mains quality given I have a dedicated circuit for my HiFi?

The safest option would be to follow Steven's advice..... If it had been the more common 230V I would have been inclined to say it's probably OK but as it's not only 220V but your mains actually reads 251V I wouldn't risk it.
