Most of the above since the vaccine and covid.
Very sorry for you.Edit: now I have a balance problem. But no nausea.
You go in and out of the problems.Hi,
Balance problem has disappeared, and hearing is improving. No more AM radio, back to FM – which reminds me how FM was a revelation in the early 70´s for me. Memory lane stuff, you know the feeling.
I still have the stereo tinnitus though.
Any experiences of Tinnitus prior to catching Covid.Hi,
Hearing is really important in our hobby. I’ve always been very careful about them, always using plugs at concerts for example. I even bought AirPods Pro to use the ANC mode.
I had four jabs of Pfizer, and I had an appointment for my fifth shot this week… things turned out a bit differently though.
I’m experiencing Covid Omicron (South Africa variant). I was tested positive (the wife too) after a rough night on Tuesday. Heaven knows when and where we got it.
I’ve now a permanent and loud humming sound in the left ear, a bit like bad grounding noise, and a significant hearing loss in the right ear.
I can’t hear any bass sounds, everything sounding like AM radio.
Listening to any music is a resounding no-no (pun intended), it’s a nightmare.
I’ll probably consult my ENT doctor if the symptoms persist over the next couple of weeks.
Any similar experiences here from my fellow fishies?
Have you ever suffered Tinnitus at a loud life changing level.Great. Covid is a really nasty f***ing virus.
Sorry that you still have tinnitus. I suppose one gets used to it, like Helena Merriman of Room 5.

No.Any experiences of Tinnitus prior to catching Covid.
Have tinnitus.
Got covid in November.
Somebody turned up the volume, then forgot to turn it back down.
Saw my ENT and had a battery of tests.
My hearing is surprisingly good for my age, with no other apparent problems.
Apparently this is not unheard of and appears to be permanent although they have no idea why at this point.
Wonderful.
If you have experience a stuffy nose or any type of sinus symptoms it's completely normal to experience Eustachian tube blockage. The tube becomes inflamed & this reduces the ears ability to drain fluid causing tinnitus & reduced hearing.

I have been experiencing High level tinnitus for 5 years & have been through it all to get it sorted.
Nothing to worry about in your instance, it will go away in a week or 2.
I think we all find things to lessen the impact. It's either this or a life of insanity. Mine is loud hissing, & high pitched piercing alongside low level humming which can only be heard when the piercing goes low. It's a bummer.Tinnitus blows. I have recently discovered 2 things that seem to lessen apart from the usual crap the ENTs tell you. Audio Cardio. This is an app you get on your phone and it analises your hearing and develops a low level sound spectrum that you listen to. 2nd thing the addition of vocalising during meditation kind of like "Oooooooom". No idea why that works but it seems to.

One never gets used to it but instead suffers it on a daily basis. Akin to having your teeth pulled but no one else can hear you scream.
Problem with Tinnitus & why there is little in the form of relief is because the issue lies within the brain, not the ear. Plus it is looked upon as something that can be tolerated. The brain is just trying to make sense of the damaged incoming signal. There is also a theory that everyone has it but the brain filters it out but when the ear is damaged in some way or loss of hearing occurs the filter stops working. It was a theory put forward by a specialist around 10 years ago. I read it when first diagnosed in 2018.Yup.
Ever found yourself walking down the road into the wind at 3am to try to get some relief?
For you poor souls who must go though life without this lovely affliction...
Basically with tinnitus, you can distract yourself for a period with intense concentration, but as soon as this breaks, the ring is there. Same with an environment with a decent amount of background noise at a level sufficient to mask the ring. Problem is anytime you want to relax, especially at night when it is quiet or to actually sleep the ring can be deafening. A fan or white noise source will help distract you a certain amount but some nights you end up walking into the wind...
