I haven's spent that much money on my x-o, but I know a lot of people who have. You only have to visit the tannoy user group on Yahoo to see what I mean. :p
I just like the idea of large cabs. Mine came in Lancaster cabs and sounded crap. Plonked them in some Tannoy Majors and they came alive.
Yep have done a little digging around and this seems to get good reviews.
Tried one already and it was very good and for the price unbeatable value but it didn't quite float my boat.
ok to be anal. The application (the turntable) will have to couple with the sorbothane, the sorobthane works as an isolater to the application. Sorbothane actually does both jobs, happy now. ;)
You need a much larger speaker cab for the 15". Ideally the old Lockwood Major if you can find one. Most Tannoy onwers usually agonise over the x-o as well which can in some instances cost thousands to rebuild, but thats another story. :p
As the thread suggest. I'd like to try a SUT with my new rebuilt and tipped Koetsu black. I've been toying with the idea of getting a Choir Audio SUT

Just seen this thread. Sorbothane can kill the musicality of some decks. This was the case for my tripped out Technics 1210. I hated the effects of trying sorobothane. But you have to wonder that if you have 28kg of slate you should surely be getting rid of any nasty resonances. Thats why people...
I wouldn't bother with the Sansui 217 they arn't much cop IMHO I owned one and it was mediocre at best. I own a Dynalab FF101A which I paid £150 for a couple of years ago, fitted up with a decent ariel it's very good indeed. I mainly listen to it through valve amplification altough it...
ESL 57's are known to have a holographic soundstage but this is at the expense of it not being very big. It dosen't extend beyond the speakers themselved. My One Thing 57's exhibit the same qualities you describe. I drive mine with a Radford STA25 poweramp and a Radford SC25 preamp, they sound...
I've driven mine pretty hard over the years and they are still standing this includes a good bashing with a Krell KSA50 which can pretty much drive anything. :D
