Try a pair of JR149's, same design more or less but for a hell of a lot less money. ;)

Denon 103 is another good match. I use a Ortofon Cadenza black on mine, but there again mines not a normal 1210.... (evil laugh)... !!!!

I haven's spent that much money on my x-o, but I know a lot of people who have. You only have to visit the tannoy user group on Yahoo to see what I mean. :p I just like the idea of large cabs. Mine came in Lancaster cabs and sounded crap. Plonked them in some Tannoy Majors and they came alive.

Yep have done a little digging around and this seems to get good reviews. Tried one already and it was very good and for the price unbeatable value but it didn't quite float my boat.

ok to be anal. The application (the turntable) will have to couple with the sorbothane, the sorobthane works as an isolater to the application. Sorbothane actually does both jobs, happy now. ;)

Because I've had all manner of phonostages from a few hundred quid right upto 12K and I like using SUT's.

You need a much larger speaker cab for the 15". Ideally the old Lockwood Major if you can find one. Most Tannoy onwers usually agonise over the x-o as well which can in some instances cost thousands to rebuild, but thats another story. :p

As the thread suggest. I'd like to try a SUT with my new rebuilt and tipped Koetsu black. I've been toying with the idea of getting a Choir Audio SUT http://www.choiraudio.com/Hashi%20sut.htm particulary the H7. Its a long shot but has anyone got any other ideas. All comments welcomed.

Just seen this thread. Sorbothane can kill the musicality of some decks. This was the case for my tripped out Technics 1210. I hated the effects of trying sorobothane. But you have to wonder that if you have 28kg of slate you should surely be getting rid of any nasty resonances. Thats why people...

ESL 57's are known to have a holographic soundstage but this is at the expense of it not being very big. It dosen't extend beyond the speakers themselved. My One Thing 57's exhibit the same qualities you describe. I drive mine with a Radford STA25 poweramp and a Radford SC25 preamp, they sound...

I've driven mine pretty hard over the years and they are still standing this includes a good bashing with a Krell KSA50 which can pretty much drive anything. :D
