    New amp challenge

The old lk era linn Majik sometimes gives very surprising results and can often be found for £200 to £250. I have never tried one with proac though. Likewise as other people have said some of the older Sony Es range are excellent bargains as well. I personally prefer an old linn majik to a Nait...

Pre amp to match linn klout

I am currently still using linn av5103 as preamp into my newly acquired linn klout. Sound wise it is great but I want to relocate the system so want to get something same size as klout and the Karik etc. Also something simple to use for the rest of the family as the 5103 isn’t the most user...

    Linn Klout vs quad 606/909/qsp

I was thinking of trying a Kairn with the klout. See how it compares with the av5103. If anyone has a sensibly priced Kairn going spare I may well be interested in the new year.

    Election night 2019 / aftermath

Wow, I haven’t even read a quarter of this thread. Quite shocked to find it on here to be honest. Some good points and some total nonsense. Certainly interesting to read different opinions though.

    Tidal Pixie Dust EQ?

I have been trying audirvana the last couple of days. It does sound different. I think I prefer it overall. Main point is tidal seems to sound slightly more refined. Wife seems to agree. I guess sounds slightly warmer but less dynaimic but does seem to reduce the weird distortion

    Linn Klout vs quad 606/909/qsp

Quick update. Still very pleased with the klout very fast and controlled. Sound changes dramatically as it warms up. I bought a pair of Martin Logan motion 20. Interesting speakers with the right music and sitting in the right spot they are excellent. Bit light at bottom end. Does confirm the...

    Linn Klout vs quad 606/909/qsp

Just had a mad moment. Pair of Martin Logan Electromotion being delivered this week. Let’s see how they work out. Beginning to wish I had stuck with avoiding this hobby still. I sold everything about 16 years ago and just listened to left overs and cheapys as and when they appears since. Till...

    Linn Klout vs quad 606/909/qsp

Yes the crusaders are excellent. Some music sounds as it should other stuff sound off balance. I think one of the midrange units is fizzing on certain frequencies. They are Dynaudio d76af drivers and seem impossible to obtain. I think I will try and find something to replace them with but keep...

    Linn Klout vs quad 606/909/qsp

I don’t think it can be the room I have lived in same house since the 80s so got used to how it sounds so to speak. I will rig the keilidhs up later and see what happens with those. Good point with ferrofluid and crossovers

    Linn Klout vs quad 606/909/qsp

Yes sound is vastly better although they still don’t sound quite how I remember them sounding years ago. That said they are old now. Very happy with the klout though.
