    Car remapping

Erm yes, I’m working on a H2 fuel cell prototype vehicle at work currently and keeping hydrogen in bottles and lines is a ball ache. Burning it is massively inefficient compared to fuel cells.

    Car remapping

I think a good few manufacturers are looking at hydrogen as a means to retain internal combustion, rather than going to electric. The main issues are fuelling infrastructure and the cost of producing hydrogen.

    Car remapping

I would imagine you can run a common block and change the internals to create the compression ratio and longevity you desire, cheaper than different blocks (casting different blocks sounds expensive). One of my work colleagues, his other gig is engine design and build and we were discussing a...

I was referring to your post, I’d just mid read it! Sorry. But the E9 is my favourite shape, the E24 a more affordable close second.

[FS] Leica Elmar 50mm LTM, Jupiter 12 and Jupiter 8 lenses.

3 lenses in no longer using, though I would try here before eBay. Leica Elmar 50mm f2.8 collapsible. This is an early one, scale is in feet only. Very nice copy, no fungus, a little dust. Comes with caps, the front may be original, the rear is just generic. Message me if you want any specific...

    Coloured equipment ?

I’d certainly give the red SPL stack house room if I had the cash. I like the colourful Sugden stuff too, a new Bijou range would be nice.

Tones posted an E9 not E24. The shark nose era were all very good looking though.

Litz cable - decent quality small solder bath?

You shouldn’t need to, burn off the litz insulation coating, wipe clean with ipa, then flux and tin if you have some rosin based flux. Avoid any active or acidic fluxes,

Litz cable - decent quality small solder bath?

tin with lead free first, once the wire is clean of any insulation, then clean and tin it with your solder of choice.

Litz cable - decent quality small solder bath?

A basic lead free solder (copper tin mix) has a higher melting point (about 235degC) this will probably burn off you litz insulation better. I’ve used a large copper plumbing end cap as a makeshift solder bath at a pinch sat on a stainless mesh gauze on a gas kitchen hob.

    Car Audio

I have a couple of pairs of Faital 3FE22 4Ohm drivers if you want one. I may be able to get them in the post over the weekend. one has been fitted to a baffle for testing so there maybe a couple of screw marks on the chassis, I've not checked in the box. But essentially they have just be run...

[WTD] Wanted Quad FM4 mains transformer

Yep. I got an FM4 but the battery has eaten into the PCB quite badly and the display failed, although it does still tune in and sound ok. I will pull the transformer this weekend and sort out posting to you next week. PM me your address. My streamer will be a RPi3 and Orchard Audio Apple Pi...

Has anyone bought a product because of a recommendation on ASR?

I think foot / hand tapping and maybe using a camera and machine learning to recognising smiling would be good metrics to measure audio playback by. Certainly as valid as any other lumped metric. I think there is a definite risk of reading more into the limited measurements, often on ASR you...
