    Optical Toslink Cable suggestion

I am using that between my Bluesound Node2i and my Emotiva XDA2 and it works just fine. I am preferring the sound of the Emotiva over the internal Node2i DAC though if i go to an MQA stream I'll need to unhook the Emotiva as it doesn't unfold MQA.

    There's a right?

    Do streamers affect the sound?

I just bought the Bluesound Node 2i and have been streaming Amazon and a couple of other stations. It sounds really good though it is early days on comparing it to my laptop/Emotiva XDA2 setup. I'll report back! Aesthetically, compact and attractive setup and Blusound on the App is very intuitive!

    subwoofer advice

I just bought the REL T Zero 2 which is bloody tiny but it fits right in with my Loth-X Ion bookshelf speaker and my 300B SE tube amp. Th weight and quality of the item astonished me for the price. IF this is an example of REL's quality then I cannot fault the company's products.

    Moog Prodigy restoration...

I keep coming back to this thread to write something profound and all I can manage every time is WOW so I figured I should just post that. Awesome piece of history being lovingly restored. Perfect!

    Energy providers. Smart meters.

Can't see the problem with having one. I changed supplier and their guy came, said we can't use this particular meter (apparently some can be used on their setup) so he fitted a new one and it was all done in two hours. The little box about the size of a cigarette box sits on the side and I...

First pictures of a black hole in space

When I was a stay at home Dad I started a niche t-shirt company and made astronomy based shirts. When I finished I donated all the unsold shirts to a charity aiming to provide clothes to children in poor countries. I ended up only keeping one shirt from the range; wish I had kept this one now ;)...

I'm using Microsoft Edge Chromium version which, whilst still under development is actually rather good.

Cycling log - random events in the day of a cyclist

25 mile with the wife and a small group from a village near Stockport. Pretty country lanes mostly. My first proper ride other than a few commutes since a tumble a year ago. I am mostly a commuter but every now and then will do some rides with my wife and son. Tumble damage...

    ADC with Turntable

I can't add much other than I can't see the point! Not sure that is helpful but it feels like getting AC into the house, converting it to DC then back to AC to power the fridge! Can't see how the conversion adds anything.

What are you listening to right now #54

Just picked up Badbea by Edwyn Collins. Haven't listened to it yet, saving it for the bank holiday weekend but soooo looking forward to it.

    Ayrton Senna 1960 - 1994

Ruthless and talented! Quite the combination. A sad loss. In my signature on the Triumph motorbiike forum I am on I have this and it certainly applies to Senna: "To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do...

Finished my Tubelab SE 300B amp

Well I guess with only 7 and a bit watts Quiet IS the new Loud ;) Sadly I didn't quite get the measurements correct on the laser cutting so the 'Loud' is slightly abridged on the L and the d but it communicates what it needs to! Thanks for the kind comment; I do love copper ya know :)

Finished my Tubelab SE 300B amp

Yeah the TEAC is a fascinating thing and I am lucky to own two (I bought the one in view as 'new in box' and another used one for spares if I ever need them). The plinth was made by the same friend who did the walnut on the amp. We used plyboo https://www.plyboo.com/products/dimensional-lumber...
