Service HiCaps or go Teddy Pardo

Bigvern Six or so years ago I had a similar set up to yours, CDX2/XPS2 282/ Hi - Cap. Firstly, after reading positive comments on this forum about Teddy power supplies I decided to changed both Naim supplies to ones from TeddyPardo. The results from theses changes were for me very...

Teddy Pardo PR1 vs Naim NAC252

I have the ported speakers from Teddy. They are positioned about 30 inches from the back wall. Compared with the large Spendors that they replaced, they seem fast and nimble and produce quite a large sound for a compact enclosure.

Teddy Pardo PR1 vs Naim NAC252

The Teddy Pre was a much more recent addition. These (there are two boxes) took over from a NAC282/Dual Teddycap with Lunar snaics.'From cold' I was taken aback by the detailed presentation compared to the Naim/Teddy combo. After a week or so the Teddy kit is surpassing all my expectations. A...

Moving to Teddy Pardo from non-Naim equipment

The main reason why Teddy and Naim are often compared is that Teddy makes a range of power supplies that compliment Naim kit. As you found Nait 5i a touch edgy, then the more open, detailed, and natural presentation of the Teddy i80a should suit.

    Teddy Supercap or PR1

The Teddy Supercap will make a worthwhile improvement over the Hi Cap you currently use,but my recommendation would be to opt for the PR1. I changed from NAC 282/Dual Teddy Cap to the PR1 a few years ago. The improvement was significant. Combined with a Teddy power amp you should enjoy fatigue...

Upgrade found hiding in cupboard shock!

Afraid not, I sold the DTC along with the 282 a couple of years ago. Glad that the TXPS is working well.

Upgrade found hiding in cupboard shock!

Minio I too found that powering both sides of the 282 brought significant improvements. A Dual Teddy Cap when added, enabled the 282 to work with more control than with just a single Hi Cap.

    Teddy Pardo best way

Minio Firstly the Teddy XPS added will allow the CDX2 to operate at a much higher level , better than the Naim equivalent to my ears. Secondly, I have both a Teddy XPS and Naim XPS2 together with a CDX2 here that I very rarely use,so I would be willing to sell one of the power supplies...

    DAC Dilemma

Billsie I have a similar Teddy set up to yours, I do have the Teddy Dac. My digital sources are SBT and CDX2/TXPS. Firstly I prefer the Squeezebox touch/Teddy Dac set up over the CDX2/TXPS. The CD player doesn’t have a digital out So I couldn’t pair CDX with the Teddy Dac. However the...

Teddy Pardo ST60 / Shahinian Arc?

Drop Teddy an e.mail. He's very approachable and helpful.

    Dual TeddyCap Cable Upgrade?

Yes I replaced the Teddy snaics with Lunars. From memory the two Lunars were identical.

    Dual TeddyCap Cable Upgrade?

The Teddy snaics sent with the DTC are very good, bettered only by expensive lunar cables from ar Sound. I don't think the Naim lavender cables will show an improvement though.

    Naim 82/282

Don't bury the corpses of the alternative power supplies. It could take a further 28 years before there is a meaningful improvement with the Hi-Cap DR.

Naim HiCap DR & will it play nice?

Worth considering would be a Dual Teddy Cap. It can power two pieces of equipment, it runs practically silent, and will in general enable Naim equipment to perform at a higher level than the Naim equivalent PSU.

    Pre amp for Linn LK140

The Linn Karin was once the flagship pre in their range. It worked pretty well with lk140's in an Aktiv set up for me. It had a built in phono stage too.
