I have the ported speakers from Teddy. They are positioned about 30 inches from the back wall. Compared with the large Spendors that they replaced, they seem fast and nimble and produce quite a large sound for a compact enclosure.

The main reason why Teddy and Naim are often compared is that Teddy makes a range of power supplies that compliment Naim kit. As you found Nait 5i a touch edgy, then the more open, detailed, and natural presentation of the Teddy i80a should suit.

Minio I too found that powering both sides of the 282 brought significant improvements. A Dual Teddy Cap when added, enabled the 282 to work with more control than with just a single Hi Cap.

Yes I replaced the Teddy snaics with Lunars. From memory the two Lunars were identical.

The Teddy snaics sent with the DTC are very good, bettered only by expensive lunar cables from ar Sound. I don't think the Naim lavender cables will show an improvement though.

Don't bury the corpses of the alternative power supplies. It could take a further 28 years before there is a meaningful improvement with the Hi-Cap DR.

Worth considering would be a Dual Teddy Cap. It can power two pieces of equipment, it runs practically silent, and will in general enable Naim equipment to perform at a higher level than the Naim equivalent PSU.

The Linn Karin was once the flagship pre in their range. It worked pretty well with lk140's in an Aktiv set up for me. It had a built in phono stage too.
