No more Naim Audio Powerline for New Zealand

Hi, I assume you're happy with the Kleos SL? What phono stage are you using it with? I currently have a Dynavector 20x2L but that dates back to when I had the P-75. I now have a Superline and am aiming to get a new cart this year.

No more Naim Audio Powerline for New Zealand

Good question. Plinius as a brand in NZ is almost non-existent and seem to focus more on exports. I found one website that listed their products and all prices were POA. Perreaux flirted with one of the big box home retailers here and I don't think it went too well. They're still around but...

No more Naim Audio Powerline for New Zealand

Accuphase are available here (NZ). A cursory glance reveals that their product pricing in NZ starts at a higher level than Naim. Not sure how the price differential compared globally though.

Are you NZ based? If so I would love to know too. I have imported some kit before (Isoblue, Kudos), none of which had local representation though.

No more Naim Audio Powerline for New Zealand

Agree that Richard's answer said very little (he is the moderator on the Naim forum - pick up the phone FFS!), except for the fact they are basically encouraging me to bypass the official distributor and parallel import a PowerLine. Maybe I should parallel import a 282 and 250 while i'm at it...

No more Naim Audio Powerline for New Zealand

I would accept that as an answer. Think I might try the Naim Audio Facebook group next. Clare Newsome participates and responds on there.

No more Naim Audio Powerline for New Zealand

Yes, I quoted RD intentionally in the hope it would elicit a response. It is also the reason I mentioned Nordost in the subject as the mere mention of using another product usually get's a pretty swift response. I've always understoood the change to have been done in the UK. If it is the...

No more Naim Audio Powerline for New Zealand

Please share their response (if and when you get one). I have started a thread on the Naim forum on the same issue and have indicated it would be good to get Naim's take on things. Recommending third party products like Nordost usually doesn't go down well there, so am keen to see what they say.

No more Naim Audio Powerline for New Zealand

From what I can tell this change came about when Naim appointed a new distributor for NZ. The previous distributor was instrumental in using Tapon plugs on all Naim Powercables in NZ, including the Powerline. My guess is that the new distributor can't be bothered or doesn't see the value. I...

Anyone using the new Rega EBLT Belt?

Thanks Paul, do you know how they differ and what improvements they might offer over the previous version? I can get two of the previous version that are 2015 stock but also have no idea if they degrade over time even without use.

Anyone using the new Rega EBLT Belt?

Hi Paul, I',m also in the market for two new belts for my P9 so would be good to know an expected ETA seeing as the previous generation upgrade belts are now longer available. Any idea?

Melbourne AU and Auckland NZ Audio shops

In Auckland, Real Groovy is probably the biggest (and best) store for used LPs and CDs. I've bought many used LPs and CDs from them over the last decade or so. Quality is usually very good too.

'Vinyls' - the term is here to stay

Surely the word "album" describes a collection of songs and not the carrier/format (ie cassette, CD, LP)? In fact an "album" can be released on cassette, CD, LP, digital bundle etc.

Whats your album of 2017 so far ?

In 2015 my favourite album was Chris Stapleton's "Traveller". This year it could well be his new album "From A Room: Volume One". https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06XR8KLFF/?tag=pinkfishmedia-21 Volume Two will follow later this year.
