    Dome tweeter evolution

Not necessarily. If you have a crossover of around 3KHz as with many medium size two ways, you can use one like this. http://www.falconacoustics.co.uk/downloads/Seas/h1283_datasheet.pdf Ones with larger drivers tend to use 1" tweeters at lower crossover. Additionally wave guides can be used...

    Dome tweeter evolution

Several Genelec active 2 way monitors use small 19mm metal tweeters.

Or just look at traditional active speakers & monitors and use them with a nice DAC/streamer. You get the benefits of active along with the flexibility of choosing other stuff.

I'm only concerned about their bass handling abilities as I'm used to big studio monitor actives. If they have an SMPS I would worry about their lifespan. Perhaps this is unfounded?

    God I'm sick of hifi

I heard one a while back and was very impressed indeed, especially the bass output. Really deep sound.

    Recommended printer

I know about this very well. I will be buying compatible toners off ebay where they are cheap. It may void the warranty, but I'm not paying more than the printer in cartridges. Some printers have chips that mean third party toner manufacturers cant reproduce them, forcing you to buy the...

    Recommended printer

Will probably be looking for a new printer soon. Most likely a laser beam one. I'd like colour but they're obviously more expensive and larger so I'm ok with monochrome too. I notice there are some office grade ink printers so I'm willing to consider one if it's good. I suspect they will have...

    Replacing a generic tweeter

There is no problem, I'm just interested in experimenting. The one they use is probably a fairly cheap job. A proper seas one would likely be better. It's not difficult to mount, I've already looked inside the box and it's a normal tweeter size mounted from the inside on a waveguide baffle. I...

    Replacing a generic tweeter

The x over is 3kHz The sensitivity of the old one is 91 dB like the Seas one I found. Nominal impedance 6 Ohm http://mackie.com/sites/default/files/PRODUCT%20RESOURCES/SPECS/Spec_Sheets/HR624MK2_SS.pdf

    Replacing a generic tweeter

Currently my speakers seem to use some unknown generic tweeters so I'm thinking about replacing them with Seas ones. I've found some of the same sensitivity and nominal impedance and that should mount the same...
