    System pics 2024

I remember our first born poking his finger into the tweeter on our ARC050 speakers. So the small dome of a tweeter became A DEPRESSION. Amazingly it still played, sort of OK. :(

Hi-Fi Racks are no longer in business by the looks of it

Yes this is a shame. We bought ours from Ceritech in Monmouth, ages ago, but recently ordered set of 'legs' to accommodate a CD player with a phono stage perched on top. Unlike other respondents I found them quick and efficient. I loved their model where you could specify precisely what size...

    R.C.M. Pro-Ject VC-E

I like my VCE, I only clean 2 LPs at a time, so no exhaust issues. There is something magical about cleaning a maybe 40 y/o record to appear brand new. Now I'm in the habit of cleaning new LPs. :)

    Where did your journey start?

Well it wasn't all sweetness and light, my Pioneer had dodgy pitch stability, only alleviated when it was swapped for an Lp12 in 1982. :(

    Where did your journey start?

Pioneer PL112D deck in the 70s. Went through a number of cartridges, including Ortofon VMS20E and Grade F1 IIRC. Amp was a Pioneer 7300? with Leak 2020 speakers. From there, bought our first LP12 in the early 80s...... :)

DB Poweramp - any help greatfully received.

I have used Mediamonkey, but I find Metadatics more intuitive. Even comes with a built in BRAIN (not AI) to retrieve album art. ;)

Streamers that can stream hi res from Tidal etc

My Cambridge Audio CXN manages this (wireless stream). ;)

Naim using xlr on new classic series

I notice that my mobility scooter uses XLR sockets for charging, So I could listen to music and charge my scooter at the same time! Wonderful. ;)

How hot does your Naim NAP 250/2 run?

Well most things really. What surprised me was the lower 'noise floor' so instruments appear playing in their own 'space'. Also bass notes are more clearly defined with no sense of fuzziness. Missing the amp lots, turning 70 next year this is likely to be my 'forever system' :(

How hot does your Naim NAP 250/2 run?

Yes that's correct the NAP200 was OK. Love the 250.2, mind, (when it's actually working).

How hot does your Naim NAP 250/2 run?

No it's the 250.2 which is currently in assessment. Beginning to get withdrawal symptoms, the HiFi has been out of action for nearly a month.

How hot does your Naim NAP 250/2 run?

Interesting thread. I experienced exactly the same with my NAP200, however my NAP250.2 is currently being assessed by Naim. When it emitted an alarming 'shriek' at switch on it got 'alarmingly hot' - the heat was restricted to the right hand side of the amp. Things are not going well at all, in...

    Mobility Scooters

Thanks for the replies. The think that gives me confidence in the device, is that it's not a new product, currently in the fourth iteration. If you look at the YouTubes, I can spot subtle differences in the older models. The other thing is that it gives you an instant seat, so when there was a...

    Mobility Scooters

If there are any PFMers who have mobility issues, I would like to give a full hearted recommendation to the Di Blasi R30 Scooter. It is a 'one-piece collapsable' scooter, which folds to the size of a suitcase. If you do a search on YouTube you can find it, I particularly like the Yorkshire guy...
