Hi all Has anyone compared the two? Is there much of a difference? I’d like to try one some time. Thanks in advance for any input.

I had the Motive 2 for a long time. They were fantastic and like the Alphas, much bigger sound than their size would suggest. I’ve read in a few places that the plain old regular 2 is better than the SE line.

Just had a quick first listen to the ‘dance with death’ LP and also finding it a little bass light. I mean, like you said and another before you, it’s well defined but just seems to fade into the background when the other instruments come in. Hoping it was intentionally recorded/mixed this way...

Thanks for the reply vdg A few people used it including Shihab and Yusef Lateef I think. There were two systems back then. One made by Selmer and another one made by I’m not sure who.

I wish there was a documentary about late period Coltrane or at least more footage/interviews from that time. It's strange that there's hardly anything at all.

I'm curious too. I use it to clean sticky pads on my sax. It evaporates quickly like isopropyl alcohol. Haven't used it on records though.

They also said in the pr that other companies have offered to buy them but they've declined because they didn't have the same goals. So we have to assume they mean what they say.

Are those tonearms good? It looks great.
