That would be interesting if both platterspeed (using test tones) and turntabulator (using the iphones gyroscope) are both reporting overstated speeds. Would love to see a speed disk from Rega.

The difference in speed with needle down is only 0.01 rpm, typically.

Analog and digital means, with record playing. Turntabulator is one, Platterspeed is the other (that reads a test tone). Always with record playing. The power supply offers speed adjustment, rega advertises it on the website even, but no instructions for the end user. Mine...

I can't hear a bit of difference. But some seem to be able to, but not me.

You are noticing what I noticed straight away, especially your double bass observation. There's incredible amounts of detail and realism in the lower end but clearly not exaggerated or boosted in any way. However, it takes the top end about a week to open up with normal use.

I dislike their phono cartridges and think the P5, P7, and P9 tables are overrated. Side firing woofers aren't my cup of tea, either. How's that? Still love Rega, however. My turntable is a Linn and my speakers Thiel.
