Speakers to better Proac Response 1SC

Ummm, when I, many years ago, bought Response 1Sc they were over a grand... When I replaced them I had to spend over 3 times that to get a noticeable improvement and went floorstander. Improving on the little ProAcs for about a grand? No. Different, yes. And, as noted, seriously heavy stands...

To make up for VAT avoidance perhaps?;)

Dave says no debates without the Greens

But this continued focus on the party leaders and only them merely serves to encourage that view and detracts further from anything local and representative, further distancing MPs from their electorate.

    Yosemite Climb

You were quite right to do so: a wonderful public service from Cloth Ears Enterprises correcting a drink and drug and caffeine addled memory of a reformed hedonist! Missing the coast would be a disaster indeed!

    Yosemite Climb

Bollocks! It was a while ago: we drove on lots of roads and all the numbers start to blur together and tequila rotted my brain, when some wicked espressos in North Beach weren't making me gibber incoherently and we weren't staying up all night in clubs in SF...I'm surprised I can remember...

Dave says no debates without the Greens

This sort of debate is appropriate for a US-style presidential system in which voters get to vote directly for yer actual presidential candidates. However, in a UK-style system in which we vote for our constituency MP and the party with most MPs gets to play government and appoint their leader...

    Yosemite Climb

Like Cloth Ears says... Inspiration Point is brilliant, one of my favourite ever places. The views across the valley from Yosemite Falls (a not too taxing walk if you are half fit) are very good too. While in the area don't forget the coast...101 FTW! Big Sur, Carmel, Bixby Bridge...Stick on...

    Leonard Cohen

A slight side step is the "I'm Your Fan" set of covers, which I like a lot, especially REM's First We Take Manhattan and the 2 very different versions of Tower of Song by Robert Forster and Nick Cave: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00000ASHL/?tag=pinkfishmedia-21

    Mogami vs DNM speaker cable

lrt appears to be quite good at not reading some of the words people actually write, especially qualifiers like "slightly" or "some", and also not to grasp when someone has used the past tense, like "was"...To use examples from the last few days alone.

    Yosemite Climb

Dawn Wall! Ferking incredible! The whole of Yosemite is incredible, but standing beneath El Capitan and looking up at Dawn Wall...Oh man...I got vertigo just looking at it. Some of the press hyperbole about "toughest climb" is, well, hyperbole, but that is hugely impressive...I can remember a...

    Protest vote dilemma

Snag is that deliberately spoilt ballot papers (eg writing "none of the above" or similar on them) are counted along with unintentionally spoilt papers, so at present it isn't possible to separate protest from numpties.

Gotham, Van-Damme, Mogami - is there really any difference other than marketing?
