Trying to teach a learner driver clutch-control..any tips ?

Have you considered an automatic? In time , most cars may be automatic as we move to all electric. Hill starts are easy and stalling is not a problem. My wife learned in a manual but always had difficulty with clutch control, an auto solves the problem.

    Griffin 27 speakers near me...

In the 70s I worked for a Birmingham hifi dealer and sold many pairs of Griffin speakers, all really good and well made. They were made in West Bromwich and Mr Griffin ( might have been Paul ) would deliver them in person. Not to be confused with Bob Griffin of Griffin Audio also in Birmingham...

    Sean Lock RIP

So sad. RIP Sean. One of the funniest things on telly was his " cocktail " he made as his " mascot " at the beginning of an episode of 8 out of 10.... Hilarious.

thermostatic shower advice please - Mira or not?

Mira every time. Great products and back up service. Until retiring 5 years ago I spent 35 years working for several major plumbers merchants. Mira is highly specified in both domestic and commercial application. The non domestic range uses the brand name Rada, most hospitals and medical sites...

What’s your oldest piece of vinyl

Mine is Abbey Road, bought early 1970, 2nd pressing, and despite being played lots and on numerous turntables still sounds good.

    First hi-fi item purchased

My Rotel RA311 and Goodmans Ministers were from Comet in Birmingham, they didn't have my first choice, which might have been Celestion or Wharfdale. Didn't matter I just had to go home with a pair of speakers. Bit more discerning now!

    First hi-fi item purchased

Started in about 1973/4 with a BSR MP60 bought off a pal for a few quid, a Rotel RA311 amp and Goodmans Minister. Sounded fantastic, and impressed friends. Many changes and lots spent since, it's an ongoing process!

    A bath for lounging in.

Not that one , but several not dissimilar, when touring round the North West of Iceland. Beautiful and wild place. Wish we were there at the moment with the volcano going up in the Reykeness peninsula. There's a great video blog worth looking at by a chap called Valur on grapevine.is. if I knew...
