    Rooftop tents

The vehicle also handled horribly through the corners with the box up on top, plus used about 15% more fuel. Needless to say, they are not for me (plus would be weird on the current Alfa)

    Rooftop tents

I briefly had a hard shell pop-up roof tent. I took the young son camping and on the first night discovered bad condensation issues, followed by a feverish son needing to constatly use the ladder in distressed and dizzy state. The next time it was just too high to escape the wind. It was soon...

    Recommend me a whiskey glass

I had a couple of these, just to be a little different. One was placed one a bit close to the edge by someone without much understanding of how they work, and then their was one. https://www.croweandco.co.nz/products/rock-n-roll-whiskey-glasses

    Dynaudio contour legacy

I'm not a speaker designer, so take this with a grain of salt. The 4-sided mitred perimeter frame is a very nice detail, but would be better highlighted by a contrasting coloured front (IMO - i.e. the panel with the 3 holes in it). I would also recess the black plinth about 10mm. However, I am...

    Flashing around shared chimney?

I'm going to go the other way. Dealing with trades people can be a right pain in the proverbial. If he's offering to take that task off your hands, it would be worth paying for all, or at least most of it.

    Torture test tracks

Limit to Your Love by James Blake is not bad, but can be a bit torturous

    Gothic audio cable direction

Can't say that I've tried, but if that lottery ticket wins I'll be happy to give it a go :)

    Gothic audio cable direction

You may have accidentally walked in to a hornets nest here vam777. Arrow pointing away from the source is the intention I believe, but it is quite contentious .... even on the green site. I have a Naim RCA to DIN that I recently switched to suite different boxes, meaning I then used it the...

    Class A amps question

Nice. I was looking at them for a bit, along with the SA-Ref that followed, but from memory about 5 amps in class A (1150W approx.). I haven't owned one yet. I would probably also need to install a heat pump for cooling to counter it in my listening area, so even more power required (unless only...

    Class A amps question

I'm not sure if you are still using Naim amps, but if so, you can probably take comfort about this not being an issue for you anyway. They don't tend to run hot or eat lots of watts while waiting for you to select the next track.

Prescription drugs, you take what you need to get through the day(and night!).

I hope everyone on this thread is doing ok. I'm used to not taking anything, so feel for you. Oh, except for Omeprazole for a while now. Oh and yes, I did get another prescription last week, but i haven't started yet, so surely that doesn't count? Oh and then theirs that other one, but it's...

    Class A amps question

It's a Conrad Johnson Premier 350 (350W into 8 and over 600 into 4). I just found the email from C/J where they advised it is a little less wattage than my memory suggested, but still 180W at idle. I also have an ARC valve amp and a thermometer sitting on top shows almost exactly the same...

If I was driving a car, saw a chainsaw wielding person…

Ejector seat followed by car self detonation. (Now I'm just being silly, probably because I'm late and work and looking for a distraction....but at least the music is better when no-one else is around).

If I was driving a car, saw a chainsaw wielding person…

I don't know what the big deal is. People pay to get attacked with chainsaws in the cornfield's at the ex. psych ward site where bad things happened in NZ  https://www.eventfinda.co.nz/2022/17-chainsaws-for-17-years-of-scares/auckland/karaka

    Class A amps question

I have actively avoided A's because of the electricity use and heat created. However, my 20 year old S/S home amp runs at over 50 degrees on the surface anyway, and still uses a fair bit of power (about 200W on standby). I'm not too knowledgeable about it so will ask, would amps that run this...
