The solution lies in building more homes and in occupying vacant homes, of which there are many throughout the nation.
The issue, of course, is that vacant properties often lie in areas of economic and social neglect where infrastructure was decimated, often by Conservative governments, and will need to be rebuilt. Illegal immigration is a very convenient scapegoat for policy failure and dishonesty.
