getting new records out of their sleeves

STOP.

Don't take the record out. Pinch the sleeve and slide a decent quality, upside down poly liner over the record while it's still in the sleeve. Then remove the record.

I wouldn’t advocate that, new records frequently need a clean and maybe loaded with static. No sense in sliding a record that needs a wet clean into a new inner.

Maybe keep one poly inner specifically for the task?

There is no reason to try and shift a record from one inner to another, all that does is make the process of removing the new record from a tight sleeve harder to do, and far more complicated than it needs to be.

Also your proposal will potentially contaminate said inner sleeve with detritus, and possibly cause damage to the vinyl.

Many folk like to wet-clean a new record before playing and/or placing into a preferred inner sleeve. This eliminates static and cleans any residual dirt from the pressing process. This is what I do.
