I'd bet on them using Millie. Can play defence, tackle and is decent in the air. Above all he is a clever player with good positional sense.
It would be a rest for him as he'd only need to cover half the Km's he normally does :)

Well done LFC. Was glad to see them press and attack for 90 minutes. Would have been easy to turn conservative after Allison’s bobble, but they didn’t. How good was Fabinho today? Countless perfect passes and blocks, and his assist on Mané‘s goal was beautiful. Yes, both of Shaqiri‘s goals took deflections, but with such an overwhelming advantage in shots on goal, something was sure to go in!

Was there a game today? Top of the league you say. Happy daze. :):)

Fully deserved win. Man U utter rubbish.
Chelsea fans revealing their true nature, and Arsenal lose.
It gets better and better.

Gloat!! Moi?

It makes you wonder if Mourinho is doing it deliberately.. the three at the was working ok, especially as the little Italian is better at defending than attacking from fullback, and was fairly comfortable after the equaliser. Then at half time he changes to a back 4, instead of just playing 2 up top and adding a third body into the centre to help out with the numbers. Liverpool are the better team, but surely when a match changes on a goal, you have to build on what's gone on?

I can't remember when we last beat Utd, all good though we're stretched somewhat with defensive cover throughc current injuries... let's hope they can keep it going and keep the pressure on a very good City team.

So that concludes the draw for the 2018-19 Champions League last-16.
  • Schalke v Man City
  • Atletico Madrid v Juventus
  • Man Utd v PSG
  • Tottenham v Borussia Dortmund
  • Lyon v Barcelona
  • Roma v Porto
  • Ajax v Real Madrid
  • Liverpool v Bayern Munich
Man U fans at work saying at least we'll go out to someone decent.

They're not far wrong there, Ender, better than last year's debacle with a supposed 'friendly' draw. Spurs vs Dortmund looks to be a doozy of a tie, and Liverpool vs Bayern. Juve vs Atletico will likey be a war of attrition, but I think Juve may pay the price with their goalkeeper, other than that position, they would have a great chance of going all the way. Maybe this year is PSG's year finally, after acquiring Buffon, and they'll hopefully have to do so before FFP kick their crutches out from under them.

From the BBC rolling reaction:

Andy Mitten, editor of Manchester United fanzine United We Stand, on BBC Radio 5 live: "It has been coming in recent weeks. We've been doing polls where 80% of fans wanted him to leave. Very few people will be upset he has gone.

"He had a very good first season, an acceptable second season, but this season has been a disaster.

"The manager is not wholly responsible but he must take a lot of the blame. He is not the only one culpable, the players are not playing anywhere near their best level.

"They won't be sad he's gone."

but actually a shame to see him go.
Ron Knee (59) is ashen-faced, ready to step-up, and is the bookies favourite.
Get money on it.

Yeah, Zidane, Jardim, Larry White, even Wenger would be an improvement on this season. I don't think Conte or Simeone are the answer, but it needs thought, and a decent backroom too, the last since Moyes sacked off Fergies winning backroom has been an utter disaster that needs addressing.

Harry or Fat Sam to the end of the season then give the job to Sparky.

What they need is not going to happen.

The whole club needs restructuring with proper long term planning.
Woodward has to go, but he won’t. He’s doing too good a job bringing in money for the Owners.
They need a director of football.
Players should be bought for the next ten years not as knee jerk reactions to other clubs or as shirt sellers as they have been for years.
They are giving long term contract renewals to dross eg Smalling whilst quality like Martial and Mata are running their contracts down.
They cannot go out and buy many players without getting rid of a lot because they are already very close to failing Premier league wages rules regarding FFP.

They need someone like Eddie Howe with a guaranteed 5 years to build but it won’t happen because of long term sponsorship penalties if they fall out of the champs league.

I can’t see Zidane wanting the job after he bottled the necessary re build at Real Madrid.
Poch will want to stay at Tottenham and see them into the new stadium then get a decent job like Madrid.

Perhaps you’d like to rewrite that because it is just meaningless gibberish and irrelevant to the current discussion.

What are they complaining about? Admittedly Mourinho has spent 400 Million quid on players, but he won the Europa League and League Cup in 2016-17. Plus Utd came second in the PL last year.

This year they've gone downwards, but this was expected. Mourinho wanted some midfield players during the last transfer window and Utd didn't come through. This resulted in arguments, the players got fed up, Jose moaned and was then sacked.

It's the same old PL cycle and it makes football predictably boring.

Mourinho could have improved on one front though - he should have sold Pogba to Chelsea.
