Hi Fi shops in Worcester (UK)

I live near Worcester, but no longer use hi-fi retailers. My one friend who does uses John at Midland Audio Exchange.

Is that the same Jon that used to work at West Midland Audio in Worcester?

Doubt it. West Mids Audio was run by a guy called Peter and ceased to trade in the mid 80s

malvern to be precise , and yes he is brilliant . i have been there a number of times this year . great to know re mannhifi . must pay them a visit

There's a trend I've heard about , that in cosmopolitan locations there are coffee bars and bars where you can bring a few records and share tunes being played on top end vinyl systems. Now if that could be a way of introducing how good Hi-Fi can sound ..who knows.

We tried exactly this in the 1980s and had the local council moved the goal posts any more, we'd have opened in Bangkok.

Only way I could see it working round Worcester is if a friendly landlord of a local pub hosted it. Would need some expensive gear to tempt them . There’s a couple which allow you to bring vinyl. Can’t see it happening .. although others would know better but I think it’s classification of business

I'm going to Bath tomorrow. Anything to look out for there? Looks like there's no record shops (s/h ideally) there. I mean vinyl BTW.

Bath is still awash with Hi-Fi outlets: Audience on Broad Street in the centre of the City; Paul Green Hi-Fi on a small business estate on the Bristol side of the City; Cool Gales and The Right Note (Saltford) are specialist hi-fi suppliers that you arrange appointments with rather than retail shops as such; then there is a Richer Sounds and Moss of Bath is a small retailer with a decent range of mid-range hi-fi. For records, there is now Resolution Records in Green Park Market, plus a decent range of new vinyl at HMV and lots of charity shops worth checking out.

I was in Bath on Monday and the wake was in the same village as the the right note which has been going for years
