Transparent DACs.

If a dac doesn't have red lights it can't possibly be transparent.

To the OP, please stop worrying about it.
 
I built a headphone amp in a transparent red plastic box. It has never been questioned by airport security even though you can see the the 2 x PP3 batteries within it.

If blind testing, surely the colour shouldn't matter!!

No testing required if a DAC is transparent.

I'll just choose on spec & price.

EDIT. I need 3 digital inputs, a remote control, ideally under €200, and of course, transparency :)

I think it's actually made by a German company called Schrodinger and rebadged as Quantum. The music is actually both digital and analogue at the same time.
 
It was, it comes with a free cat, but if you try to measure the cat..............................
