Which scanner?

Sorting out the loft, my wife has found all the old slides (and a few film negatives) which she wants transferred to the ‘puter - anyone have any knowledge of what she ( or me!) should get for quality and ease of use please? Always likes the Nikon Coolscans but assume it would mean a look at eBay!
Don’t want to spend a fortune so looking at £300-£400 max.

Nikon Coolscan 4000ED or V. If the budget won't stretch a IVED will be fine, 2800dpi as opposed to 4000dpi on the others.

Plustek Opticfilm 135i, you’ll have to hunt to get one at your price, but we’ll worth it.

Does up to 7200 dpi.

Automatic batch control.

I’ve just completed 40 years worth of slides and negatives.

Quality of scans are superb.
