"Very interested in your update Foxman, I spent a full day last week listening to the Ri100 and the SIA 025. I would absolutely agree with your comments regarding the Ri100, very natural organic sound, definately needed a bit of time to adjust too for me as well. You're right it is when you switch back that the impact really hits home and the penny drops as they say. Reading back in this post Shanks did a first class job of describing and explaining the nature of Vitus. I made the mistake of listening to the SIA025 in class A mode! Don't do it unless you have the budget. Vitus are serious money but in many ways I would say good value, I had been moving towards a preloved 552/500 which would be double the outlay of the RI100 and around the same as the SIA025.
A very special piece of kit, forget the fact that it is an integrated the SIA025 (and the Ri100) will give any amp/pre/ps a run that I have heard. I suppose it all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day but without trying to sound over the top I found both amps a very moving experience to live with. You first notice the space, transparency and separation and then longer and longer listening sessions without any fatigue. Maybe a bit less drive and whack to the bass than other options but if you want a musical experience based on what was recorded Vitus is the real deal! I've ordered the SIA025, it is a step up on the Ri100 as you would expect but it was a close call! The Ri100 has many of the attributes and at half the cost I think it is a bargain."
