Hello
After getting into HiFi a couple of years back I noticed lots of people asking for advice on combinations of hifi. After seeing quite a few repeated posts I decided to build a site where users could build/review combinations of hifi.
I got a beta version and the basic functionality is :-
Users can add components ( and associated images, manuals ) which are then checked/proofed by other users before being added. Most of the components you can add specific technical info ( ie. frequency response, harmonic distortion etc ) rather than just dumping it all in a text box.
an approved item http://www.hificombo.com/items/view/marantz-pm4200
an unapproved item http://www.hificombo.com/items/view/leema-tucana-ii
Users can then add them to a combo for review or add a review of the component alone.

There is also an option to add combos to your personal hifi history, which you can amend as you pleaseand have a public link to. My ( rather poor!) one is here

If anyone finds the idea/site of interest, could you possibly consider....
looking around and give me some feedback
Have a play with the combo builder.
try adding a component and let me know if certain components are lacking major technical specs . Certain ones ( like tuner for example ) dont have any anyway.
possibly email me some NAIM manuals/tech spec. I started with Naim and would like to get one manufacturers complete range up, I have found it really to find old info/manuals/tech specs!
Any feedback to [email protected] or here would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Leo
