The most perfect song

I've seen mention of God only knows but surely it is either Surfs up or Disney Girls.

For me it would be 'Don't Worry Baby' - best harmonies ever tied to a upliftingly lovely storyline.

Perfect songs that I don't have but I recognise their perfection:
Careless Whisper - George Michael
Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty
Perfect songs from my favourite songwriters:
Eyes of the World - Hunter / Garcia
Wall of Death - Richard Thompson
Tennessee - Gillian Welch

Vince

Some suggestions from the top of my head. Not everyone's taste but ones that always strike me as beautifully written/crafted songs:

A Pair of Brown Eyes - The Pogues
Vincent - Don Maclean
Lover You Should've Come Over - Jeff Buckley
My Old Man - Ian Dury
Jolene - Dolly Parton

Rare beast this - Pop beautifully melded with opera.
Pure magic when the fat bloke chimes in.

I can only answer this question by saying that Joy Division are the most special for my own reasons. So important that it keeps me living in this area.

I have thousands of tracks from the early 20th century onwards. Its amazing what people can do with the notes in the scale. To pick the most perfect song is an impossible task really.
