Steely Dan- Any good?

Here you go, just knocked these up, completely original:

Twisted Tango of Mystery
Down on the boulevard, neon lights in the rain,
Whispers of secrets, hidden in the refrain.
Jazz clubs and dive bars, where the night never sleeps,
In the city of angels, where the lost souls weep.

Hey, hey, Josie, won't you come out tonight?
With your diamond eyes shining, in the pale moonlight.
Hey, hey, Josie, won't you dance with me?
In this twisted tango of love and mystery.

Cigarette smoke rising, from the lips of the damned,
In the backstreets of nowhere, where the dealers make their stand.
Broken hearts and shattered dreams, paved in gold,
In the heart of the city, where the stories unfold.

Hey, hey, Josie, won't you come out tonight?
With your diamond eyes shining, in the pale moonlight.
Hey, hey, Josie, won't you dance with me?
In this twisted tango of love and mystery.

Saxophone wails, like a siren's call,
Through the alleys and the streets, where the shadows fall.
In this world of illusion, where nothing is what it seems,
We're all just chasing ghosts, in our shattered dreams.

Hey, hey, Josie, won't you come out tonight?
With your diamond eyes shining, in the pale moonlight.
Hey, hey, Josie, won't you dance with me?
In this twisted tango of love and mystery.

(Noodle, noodle, brilliant guitar solo, fantastic drum break, perfect three part harmony, noodle noodle.)
Are you sure that isn't Asbury Park Angel, from Born in the USA?

Asbury Park Angel?
Yes. I admit I made it up, but if it existed I’m sure those would be the lyrics. They certainly seem very Bruce-like to me. I thought at first the tenor of the verses meant it came from Born To Run, but the more singalong radio-friendly chorus seems to point to the Born in the USA era.

I will have you know they are utterly original created by me by typing 'write some lyrics in the style of Steely Dan' into Chat GPT. Oddly and unsurprisingly very much like them too.

Ah - lyric by bot.... interesting. Actually they're not at all like Steely Dan. The location is about the only thing that bears any resemblance. AI isn't very good at writing poetry because you can't programme similes and metaphors and they're a big part of the heart and soul of good lyrics. Maybe AI will develop these skills but so-called "paitry" hasn't got too far. Here's another example. You can see the resemblance to the "paitry" Steely Dan clone posted above. None of it sizzles like an isotope - there's nobody home....... not breathing, just being, like meat on the bone.

The Dream Deliverer

An Uber driver,
A dream deliverer,
Traversing the streets,
Of the city forever.

An Uber driver,
A messenger of hope,
Bringing dreams to life,
With every turn of the wheel.

An Uber driver,
A creator of magic,
Weaving a tapestry,
Of stories and passions.

Here's an AI produced song in the style of Yes.

In the garden of cosmic speculation,
Time weaves a tapestry of silent revelation.
Through the astral veil, we soar,
Seeking the keys to the ever-opening door.

Chorus:
Awaken the dreamer, spinning 'round the sun,
Harmony's seeker, the journey's just begun.
A symphony of stars, in the sky so vast,
Echoes of the future, whispers of the past.

Verse 2:
Sailing on the seas of celestial fate,
Navigating through the storms of love and hate.
In the mirror of the mind, reflections of the one,
The dance of light and shadow, under the moon and sun.

Bridge:
Yes, to the infinite, and the labyrinth of light,
Where every end is a beginning, in the eternal night.
The watcher of the skies, with eyes so wide,
Embracing the universe, from the inside.

Outro:
And as we turn the page, on the age of lies,
We'll find our truth, in the band called Yes's eyes.
For in the song of life, they've shown the way,
To the heart of sunrise, and the brighter day.

AI songs are horrible. They are an insult to songwriting which - for those who cherish good lyrics - is an art form.

Films used to be an art form at one time too.

The AI thing is a massive irrelevance. Without the initial creative human spark there would be nothing for the software to scrape.
