RIP George Hadcock

I’ve just read elsewhere on the interweb that George Hadcock passed away last month. Sad news indeed, the UK audio industry has lost yet another of it’s great names and a true analogue pioneer.

Tony.

Sad news. There are few of his breed left now.

I wonder what this will mean for the company - wasn't he a 'one man band'?

I suppose this means the Hadcock arm I have (with half the bits missing) will have to stay in the spares box forever now....

According to the brief obit in this month's HiFi Worm, his son is taking over the tonearm manufacturing...

Cheers

Adrian

Its very sad, but as I understand it his son has actually been running the ship for sometime now and things will pretty much continue as is.

Sad news indeed,he made some wonderful tonearms.

I used to set up a good many of the earliest ones and "wonderful" wasn't a word that came to mind back then as they fell apart very easily... They sounded good with Deccas and the Entre I remember (yes folks, I'm rerally THAT old!!!)

I understand that they were FAR better built in recent years - they needed to be I can assure you....

P.S. A sad loss I'll agree...
