RIP Bernard

Chaps

Bernard Jordan was without doubt the sort of man who will be sorely missed.

He was patriotic and yet he played it down.

He was hard working throughout his life and was made an Honorary Alderman in recognition of his services as a councillor. In other words he was a man who got off his arse and got things done.

He very modestly stated that the proudest moment of his life was meeting Margaret Thatcher, which was more than I ever managed to do.

Jack was right, Bernard was a very cool bloke.

"In 2000 he defected to Labour, despite once saying that meeting Margaret Thatcher was one of his proudest moments."

A man who carried on learning and growing , a lesson to us all .

That is an excellent reply, very straight and quick to the point.

Also no spelling mistakes which proves you can do it if you try.
