Rega P3 Motor not working

WD 40 is pretty crap for most jobs really and its especially no good for long term lubrication as it dries out to a sticky mess.

Kieth do you live in the UK ?
The promotec motor is 110v so if your turntable is wired directly to the mains it should have a 6.8K, 2.5W resistor in line with the mains supply brown to the red motor phase as per my post 15
The 0.2uf cap should be across the blue and red phase of the motor and there should be a 0.01uf X2 across the turntable switch

I wouldn't and didn't used wd40! I used a penetrating oil and left in the airing cupboard over night, have now applied a couple of drops of bearing oil to the spindle. Motor appears to be quiet and spinnin..

Need to order a new motor suspension belt, so it can all be tested
