Aria

MM and MC Phono Stage

Design
Housed within our latest half width custom designed case are two entirely separate high performance phono stages. One fully adjustable dedicated moving coil and one moving magnet. Each stage is designed and engineered to maximise the potential of your vinyl system whilst remaining easy to use and set up.

Technology
The Aria is an "all analogue amplifier" with no digital control circuitry. The fully aluminium case screens the internal circuit from any stray RFI signals. Our designers have avoided including any superfluous gadgets as they obstruct the signal path and degrade the sound quality. The Aria incorporates many innovative design ideas including a self-adjusting servo control to keep the MC input circuit at its optimum, compensating for any variations in ambient or operating temperature. Both stages have their own separate input sockets and input pre-amplifier circuitry. This enabled us to design bespoke input circuitry for each cartridge type without compromise. Signal switching is performed at high level and low impedance (via relays) ensuring there is no degradation of the signal.

MC stage design & features
The MC input uses parallel connected low noise FET's (Field Effect Transistor's) configured as a compound pair. The use of FET transistors ensures there is no bias current flowing in the cartridge coil so as not to upset the delicate magnetic geometry of the cartridge. The MC input has the provision for selecting resistive input loading of 70? to 400? and capacitive loading of 1000pF to 4200pF. The input sensitivity can be changed by 6dB, via the back panel.

MM Stage design & features
The MM input uses low noise bipolar input transistors also configured as a compound pair. There are two separate power supplies for each channel and further sub power supplies for each of the low noise input circuits. Nichicon FG electrolytic capacitors have been used in critical positions throughout the power supplies. Polypropylene capacitors have been used in the signal path and equalization networks. Discrete circuitry is used throughout the signal path ensuring full control of the circuit design.

New Rega RP40 Anniversary Edition turntable

To mark their 40th year, Rega will be starting the celebrations by offering a ‘limited edition’ turntable based on the RP3, the RP40 Anniversary Edition. This turntable will only be available during 2013 and built to a limited number of units with its own set of serial numbers.

The RP40 will be supplied with a custom TT-PSU, exclusive Silicon drive belt and Elys40 cartridge as standard.

Musicraft is pleased to announce that we'll have What Hi-Fi review Rega's new Elicit-R integrated amplifier in stock today

ELICIT%20R%20FOR%20WEB.gif

Introduction
Rega is very proud to introduce a brand new high performance integrated amplifier. Designed and engineered to the highest standard to deliver the best possible audio performance whilst remaining simple to use and easy to setup.

Our recent development work in amplifier design circuitry has allowed us to further advance the Elicit-R performance by using new and improved power amplifier circuits (based around the hugely successful Rega Brio-R amplifier). Combined with FET discrete line pre-amplifiers and a programmable stepped attenuator volume control ensuring greater levels of performance and control over the delivery of power. The Elicit-R is supplied with the new Solaris system remote handset offering full control over this and all of the current R range of electronics.

Elicit-R-front-view.gif

Technology
The output amplifier used in the Elicit-R was born after extensive research by our engineers to develop a low source Class-A* driver stage. Based around a complementary pair of Darlington output transistors forming an emulated Class-A driver stage.

Features
The Elicit-R includes a high quality built in moving magnet phono stage designed to maximise the potential of your vinyl system. A simple switch on the rear panel allows the same input to be switched to a secondary set at line level. This input is specially configured to offer further isolation and reduce noise. This makes it ideally suited for connection of more sensitive products such as an external MM or MC phono stage.

If your system is not vinyl based the same socket allows this line input to be used with any line level product (such as a CD player or DAC) ensuring maximised connectivity via the back panel. These features coupled with Polypropylene capacitors throughout the signal path, improved power supplies, increased output power to 100 watts per channel all housed in a brand new custom designed case combine to give the best performance Elicit to date.

Rega's new Naiad turntable

A unique design using the best of modern materials and manufacturing processes, with a plinth constructed from hand crafted carbon-fibre to achieve the ultimate in lightweight high rigidity structures strengthened further with double ceramic braces. Mass is again kept to a minimum by using a titanium skeletal vertical bearing housing for the tonearm assembly. Naiad will feature a world first in hub bearing design with a spindle and bearing housing manufactured from Zirconia. You can expect the ultimate power supply housed in Rega’s reference range casework which will offer user adjustable speed control with a digital display. Each turntable will be supplied with a piece of music called 'Naiad', one of Roy Gandy’s favourite piano pieces, which will be recorded by Rega. This unique pressing will include a test tone that will work alongside the power supply to ensure perfect speed is achieved .

Serial Number Draw

The Naiad is the second of Rega's Anniversary products. Still in development and available later this year, Naiad is the culmination of 40 years of Rega turntable philosophy taken to the extreme as a no expense spared project.

An opportunity to own a piece of hi-fi history

To celebrate the birth of Rega on the 1st of July 1973. The first 40 Naiad will be offered in a unique way. Forty years to the day it all began, each one will represent a year of trading with a matching serial number ranging from 1973-2012. Each of these first 40 Naiad will be personally signed by Roy Gandy and the maker of each deck and drawn at random from any placed orders.

On the 1st of July at 9.00am GMT the draw will open and will remain so for 48 hours. During that period you can place an order to be put into the serial number draw. Once the order book closes Rega will draw the numbers and you will be allocated a year number for your Naiad turntable when they are available later in the year. With an estimated UK selling price of £30,000 you can rest assured this will be the ultimate performance Rega turntable promising to deliver way beyond expectations. After the first 40 are sold normal numbers will resume for the continued manufacture of the Naiad.

More details to follow.
