Placing a micro sub woofer.

I have Lithe ceiling speakers in our new kitchen with the matching sub woofer. I have to place the sub woofer on top of a kitchen tower unit to maintain marital bliss. At the moment just directly on the wood top. I have some headroom, is some form of shallow stand or plinth likely to tighten up the base? Just general advice as i appreciate you would have to be there.

Having it close to boundaries (top of cabinet, wall, ceiling) will emphasize the bass, but it could be boomy. Moving it away from those will make it leaner.

You may also find that standing it on a piece of furniture makes the piece of furniture "boom". You can fix this with rubber feet, Blutak, a folded towel, etc.

Placing it on a cabinet or in a cabinet, the cabinet will act like a speaker. Isolation methods rarely work well. You really need to get it on something solid
