I’ve just finished this in a day and a bit. Written in a conversational style, rather than literary, but all the better for it. Did you know Lovejoy appeared on a Grace Jones record, after Trevor Horn bumped into him in the chip shop? Me neither.
I was also amazed to find out that he produced Belle & Sebastian’s ‘Dear Catastrophe Waitress’. Not what I assumed was his usual style, but really demonstrates a great producers ability to allow the artist to deliver their best.
I'm reading this now - its excellent, funny and moving. I didn't steal it as recommended by Mr Bowie, it was in a pile of books in my bank being sold for a hospice charity
You know, now I really like to read various books about music and recently I read a book by Daniel Levitin which impressed me very much. This book is called “This Is Your Brain On Music” and you should consider reading it too. I also want to share with you the useful forum https://faqaudio.com/ where you can also find interesting information about the nuances of music production, various reviews of electronic musical instruments, audio workstation software and much more useful things.
