Kezia

That is quite some stretching of the word ‘celebrity’. By saying that she’d likely be one of very few people I’d recognise on such a show.

I'm currently trying to raise my level of interest from "idle" to "passing" and failing. I'm still at "CBA".

Only 62.3% turnout for a leadership election is pretty poor. Now they'll spend time pondering how to get the non-interested public out to vote at the next election.

As long as the socialist candidate won, that was the important result, I agree a low turnout.

The problem might be that the only thing Kezia and Stanley Johnson will have in common is a strong anti-Corbyn stance, and I'm not sure that Jeremy will have many supporters amongst the celebs. Still, it's entertainment innit, and no need for any degree of balance?

You mean if only George Galloway or Tommy Sheridan were available, they would have boosted support for the left.

Not at all, in fact they might be even more critical! It's clear that Kezia doesn't agree with Corbyn or his supporters, and I'd suggest this was one of the main reasons for her packing in the leadership, rather than debate her position from within. I'm afraid I can't see how she won the Donald Dewar Debater of the Year award, but then I don't watch the proceedings of the Scottish Parliament on telly so I'm possibly being unfair to her. According to the BBC website, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-42037321

a party source said it would be a "fantastic opportunity" for the MSP to talk about policies and Labour values on a widely watched show.
"She puts other politicians to shame with her work ethic and I'm sure there will be huge support for her from Scottish viewers while she's in the jungle.

If you're in Scotland it's obv much more important, Labour now worth voting for in my opinion, happy days.
But it's not. If she is a politician she should do her job. That's what she is paid for, that's why she was elected. Her appearance on IACGMOOH is of SFA importance. (Interest level gone beyond "passing" and into "angry that an elected MP is wasting time on this s**t".)

Is this person still an MP? I think Vince Cable did Come Dancing a while back, i don't understand why any politician should appear on TV other than on a current affairs program or HIGNFY, if you a politician or MP why don't you just concentrate on doing your f**king job!

I just don't get it really, perhaps this is what politicians do these days (i dont have a TV so perhaps i shouldn't even be commenting at all!), maybe they'd be better appearing at a hospital and seeing what goes on there, or a school, or, within their constituency, or doing something constructive, instead of snacking on kangaroo balls... what next Micheal Gove on Gladiators?

Just to give a flavour of how she is now seen by her fellow Labour members, how about

Blair McDougall, a Labour stalwart and former head of Better Together, wrote: “There are many ways to contribute to the struggle for democratic socialism. Flying 10,000 miles to eat kangaroo c**ks with next year’s panto headliners isn’t one of them.”

Anas Sarwar, who was defeated yesterday in the race to become leader of Scottish Labour, added: “Now she has made that decision I want us to have that phone bank running to make sure that she eats every bug possible, is in the pit with the rats as much as possible, so she fully enjoys that experience and is raring to go when she comes back.”

I've just had a look at her website, and it has absolutely loads of pics of her, plus a few bits re policy etc. She certainly looks like someone who wants to be a celebrity.
