From what I can tell, he's as competent as anyone at circuit design. Nevertheless, you can easily find someone with equal industry clout who will contradict him.
I would be interested to read some contrary opinion, I tried a number of Class-D modules from the mid 2000’s but the NCores were the first to really convince, and the recent Purifi designs sound good too.

I'm of the opinion that if it works, it works. If an amp delivers good performance, it doesn't really matter how it does it. That is, of course, aside from considerations such as cost and power efficiency.
