Hello! Naim NAC 42.0 questions…

I had a 62 with 6 regs in and separated the regs and signal 0v all the way back to the psu. I used 2.5mm wires for the supply cable they only just fit in a din plug.
That also made a big difference.

I have an old Amphenol 4-pin connector set I can use on the power supply. I’ll connect the other end to a DIN.

Later that year….

I put ”together” a dual 24 supply. I had been using a single rail lab power supply. I also made up proper DIN connectors for power input and signal out.

So far so good. I picked up a 100 VA transformer and a couple of cheap ”super reg” boards. Everything is nice and quiet. spinning some vinyl and things are sounding decent.

Tweaking a bit. Everything sounds great with digital sources, but the phono had been tough to sort out.

Dropped the phono input cap from 470pf to 220pf. Not much diff.

Replaced the 10uf tantalum with a 10uf Nichicon Gold on the phono input. Took the unpleasant edge off the highs - Sweet!
